TestŐr — basic Generali insurance policy commonly taken out for residence permit and permanent residence applications in Hungary.
TestŐr is an accident insurance policy. It does not cover medical treatment directly; instead, it provides a financial benefit in the event of an insured accident, within the applicable coverage limits.
This policy is primarily intended to meet insurance requirements for administrative and immigration procedures. What Does the Policy Cover?
The basic package includes:
HUF 6 000 000 benefit in the event of accidental death
HUF 6 000 000 benefit in the event of disability caused by an accident
reimbursement of ambulance expenses up to HUF 100 000
hospital daily benefit of HUF 5 000 per day
surgical benefit of up to HUF 500 000
If needed, the policy can be extended by increasing the coverage limits or adding additional insured events.
When Is TestŐr Suitable?
The policy can be used:
for residence permit and permanent residence applications
for submission to the Hungarian immigration authorities
for schools, universities, kindergartens and other institutions where health insurance coverage is required
The total insurance coverage exceeds EUR 30 000, meeting the coverage requirements of the Hungarian immigration authorities.
Where Does the Insurance Coverage Apply?
The insurance policy provides worldwide coverage, except in areas where active armed conflicts are taking place.
Cost and Duration
The cost of the policy is calculated individually and depends primarily on the age of the insured person.
The approximate price range is as follows:
For children - till 35 000 forints, for adults from 35 000 forints till 65 000 fortints per year.

For residence permit applications, the policy is usually taken out for 1 year, while for permanent residence applications it is typically arranged for 5 years.
Please note that the policy must already be issued and paid for when the application is submitted. However, the coverage may start from the first day of the following month, in accordance with the insurance company’s terms.
Please note: If the policy is taken out for more than one year, it can be cancelled by submitting a cancellation request at least 30 days before the start of the next insurance year.
