From First Residence Permit to Long-Term Stability in Hungary

Several years ago, a young couple approached us after deciding to move to Hungary and start a new chapter of their lives here. For them, it was a completely new experience: registering a company, applying for a residence permit, preparing documents, and communicating with the immigration authorities. Everything seemed complicated and confusing, and even a small mistake could have affected their future plans. We supported our clients from the very beginning — helping them register a company, prepare the necessary documents, and obtain a residence permit for Nikita based on business activity. Later, we also assisted Natalia in obtaining a residence permit through family reunification. The couple initially received residence permits valid for one year. However, real life in a new country begins after relocation. Business development, everyday matters, document updates, and new immigration requirements all require constant attention. It is important not only to obtain a residence permit, but also to understand how to maintain a stable legal status in the future and avoid issues during renewals. We continue supporting our clients even after they receive their residence cards: reminding them about important deadlines, monitoring regulatory changes, reviewing documents, and proactively addressing details that could affect future renewals. As a result, when the time came to extend their permits, the process went smoothly and without unpleasant surprises. Their next residence permit was successfully issued for three years. Today, the couple lives and works in Hungary with confidence, building their future and feeling secure about what lies ahead. For us, stories like these are not just about paperwork and applications. They are about trust, long-term commitment, and responsibility for the final result. BAZA Consulting supports clients not only during the initial application process, but also helps them maintain stability and peace of mind throughout their life in Hungary.

How One Family Overcame Unexpected Challenges on the Path to Permanent Residency in Hungary

Recently, a family of four — mother, father, and two children — approached us for assistance. The family had already been building their life in Hungary for quite some time and had reached an important milestone: the mother and the two children became eligible to apply for permanent residency. At exactly that time, a significant change in immigration legislation came into effect: a mandatory exam on Hungarian culture was introduced. The mother quickly received an exam date, successfully passed the test, and her application continued moving forward without any issues. However, unexpected complications soon arose regarding the children’s applications. At that moment, the law still did not clearly regulate the procedure for minors. In its request for additional documents, the OIF required exam results, while at the same time the examination center was not issuing exam dates for applicants under 18 years old. The situation became absurd: on one hand, the exam was mandatory, but on the other hand, it was impossible for the children to register for it. For several weeks, the family lived under enormous stress and uncertainty, as their future in Hungary depended on the outcome of this situation. Eventually, the issue was resolved. For the younger child, the exam ultimately turned out to be unnecessary, while the older child was later assigned an exam date. He successfully passed the test, but due to the lengthy process, both children’s applications had already been rejected by that time. Naturally, we immediately prepared and submitted an appeal. The older child received a positive decision relatively quickly. However, in the younger child’s case, another risk emerged due to the prolonged review process — to avoid any interruption of legal stay in Hungary, we urgently had to launch a parallel residence permit renewal procedure. Fortunately, there was already no uncertainty regarding the outcome: the residence permit renewal was completed quickly and successfully, and afterward the permanent residency matter was also resolved positively. Later, the father also joined the family in Hungary. He obtained a residence permit through family reunification valid for two years, after which he will also be eligible to apply for permanent residency. Today, the family lives peacefully in Hungary, making plans for the future with a stable long-term legal status. Stories like these always remind us that behind immigration procedures there are not just documents and laws, but real families, emotions, and human lives. And in situations like this, it is important not only to know immigration law well, but also to be able to find solutions even in entirely new and unconventional circumstances.

Family Reunification in Hungary: A Successful Relocation Case

A woman approached us for assistance after being born in Russia and later obtaining Dutch citizenship through marriage. Despite living abroad, it was very important for her to remain close to her mother, who was living alone in Russia. Her dream was to bring her mother to Hungary, take care of her, and build a life together in Budapest as one family. That is how our journey together began. First, we prepared the documents for the applicant herself. She successfully obtained her EU citizen registration certificate and address card in Hungary. After that, it became possible to arrange her mother’s relocation through family reunification. Cases like these always require special attention, because they are not simply about paperwork — they are about the opportunity to stay close to loved ones, support them, and avoid living apart across countries and long distances. We supported the family throughout every stage of the process, assisting with document preparation, explaining every detail, and carefully monitoring the progress of the case. As a result, the mother received a Hungarian residence card valid for five years. Today, they live together in Budapest, close to one another, peacefully building their lives without worrying about being separated by borders and distance. Stories like these are always especially meaningful to us. Because sometimes immigration processes are not about relocation, business, or documents. Sometimes they are simply about the desire to be close to your family.

From the UK to Budapest: A Successful White Card Relocation

A woman who had been living in the UK for a long time reached out to us after deciding it was time for a change. She wanted to relocate to a country with a more comfortable climate, a slower pace of life, and plenty of sunshine. After considering several destinations, she chose Budapest. During our consultation, we carefully reviewed her situation and discussed the most suitable relocation pathways. Our goal was to find not just a viable option, but the one that truly matched her lifestyle and long-term plans. In the end, the most appropriate solution was Hungary’s White Card — a residence permit designed for digital nomads. While the concept seemed straightforward at first, challenges arose during the consular application stage. As the program is still relatively new and not widely processed in all consular offices, the procedure required additional clarification and coordination throughout the submission process. To ensure a smooth outcome, we maintained close communication with both the consulate and the visa center, provided ongoing guidance on procedural requirements, and supported the application at every stage. Despite the complexities, the application was successfully submitted, and she was later approved and granted the White Card in Hungary. Today, she is living in Budapest, waiting for her belongings to arrive from the UK, settling into her new home, and enjoying the sunshine that initially inspired her decision to move. Stories like this are what inspire us most. Because relocation is not always about leaving something behind — sometimes, it is about choosing a place where life simply feels right.

Helping an International Graduate Start a Career in Hungary

A young student approached us after completing his studies, with a strong desire to stay and build his life and career in Hungary. Like many international graduates, he faced an important question: what comes next after university, how to properly handle the paperwork, and how to remain in the country legally — no longer as a student, but as an employee. Fortunately, he received a job offer from a well-known international company. For a young professional, this was a major milestone — the beginning of independent life, his first serious job, and the start of a professional career in a new country. We assisted him in preparing the necessary documents, structuring the application process correctly, and obtaining a residence permit under Hungary’s National Card program for employment. Working in a large international company always involves a number of internal procedures, especially when foreign employees are involved. Therefore, in addition to the immigration process, we also assisted with obtaining his TAJ card and managed this part of the process both for the client and the employer. This support was particularly important for him. When you are just starting your independent life in a new country, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by documents, deadlines, and a system you are still learning to navigate. In such moments, having experienced guidance makes a real difference. Today, he is living and working in Hungary with confidence, building his career and growing in an international environment. For us, it is especially rewarding to be part of stories where a young person gains not just documentation, but also confidence and the opportunity to begin a new chapter of life with peace of mind.

From Refusals to Approval: A Complex Immigration Case in Hungary

This story became not only another successful case for us, but also a highly valuable professional experience. A few years ago, a young father first approached us. At that time, the case seemed fairly standard: he wanted to find employment in Hungary and arrange family reunification for his young daughter, who was still in kindergarten. His wife was studying in Hungary at the time on a student residence permit. We assisted with the preparation of the documents, and both the father and daughter successfully obtained their residence permits. Some time later, we were contacted again — this time by the mother herself. By then, she had received a job offer from one of Budapest’s well-known universities and was preparing to start her position. However, the situation turned out to be far more complex than expected. The university’s legal team had already submitted two unsuccessful applications due to an incorrectly chosen application category. After that, she was advised to submit a third application under a different route. Understandably, after multiple refusals, the family had developed significant doubts and concerns. They were no longer sure which path was correct or whether another submission would lead to yet another rejection. At that point, they turned to us again. We completely reassessed the case, identified the correct application route, prepared a new set of documents, and took full control of the process. And this case became a true record for us. The application was submitted on March 12, and by March 26 we already had a positive decision in hand. Afterwards, we also assisted in expediting the visa sticker process at the consulate so she could return to Hungary as quickly as possible to reunite with her family and begin her new role. By April, she was already working at the university in Budapest. For us, this story is a reminder of how important it is to seek guidance from specialists who truly understand the system and can find the right solution even after setbacks and refusals. Sometimes, what a person needs is not just document submission. Sometimes, they need confidence, support, and someone who can say: “We will make it right.”

Client Insurance Cases

Company Care — when insurance truly makes a difference

Sometimes everything changes in a single morning. A client approached us after what initially seemed like just an “awkward movement.” In the morning, while getting out of bed for work, he suddenly stood up too quickly — and at that moment, he experienced a sharp, sudden pain in his back. At first, it seemed like it would pass on its own. But over time, the condition worsened: the pain started radiating down his leg, he developed a fever and weakness, and even standing normally became difficult. He was genuinely frightened, as he had never experienced anything like this before. After medical examinations and treatment began, a different kind of stress followed — paperwork, the insurance company, medical reports, and claim submission. And when you are not feeling well, the last thing you want to deal with is bureaucracy. We supported the client throughout the entire process: explaining which documents were required, assisting with the paperwork, and managing the insurance claim until the compensation was received. The insured event occurred in mid-March 2026, and within approximately two weeks, the client received a compensation of around 425,000 HUF. Thanks to the Company Care corporate insurance, all examinations, treatment, and medical expenses were fully covered by the insurance provider. Sometimes insurance is not just a formality — but real support in a difficult moment.

KGFB — traffic accident and lack of insurance from the other party

Sometimes even a minor traffic accident can turn into a stressful situation — especially when it turns out that the other party does not have valid insurance. At the beginning of February, a client approached us after what initially seemed like a routine parking incident in Budapest. During a maneuver, another driver hit his car. At first glance, the damage appeared minor — a scratch and a small dent on the fender. However, after inspection at a repair shop, it became clear that a simple polish would not be enough. A full repaint of the part was required, and the repair cost amounted to approximately 60,000 HUF. The most difficult part came later. It turned out that the at-fault driver did not have valid insurance. The client was unsure how to proceed: where to turn, how to prove the damage, who would cover the repair, and how long the process would take. We helped collect photos and documentation, organized communication between the parties, and found a resolution without lengthy disputes or conflict. In the end, within less than a week, a compensation agreement of 60,000 HUF was reached, and the client was able to quickly schedule the repair and restore the vehicle.

Home insurance — insurance claim after rain damage and water leakage

Sometimes problems in an apartment do not start with anything serious, but with a small stain on the wall. After heavy rain and strong winds, the client noticed mold starting to appear near the window. At first, he did not pay much attention to it, assuming it was just humidity. However, the situation gradually worsened: after each rainfall, electrical issues began to occur in the apartment, the external shutters stopped working, and the switches started to come loose from the wall. At some point, it became clear that the issue was more serious than simple dampness. The client initially contacted the insurance company himself but received a rejection. From the insurer’s perspective, it appeared to be ordinary mold or a long-standing issue with the property that was not eligible for compensation. When the client approached us, the main challenge was to prove the true cause of the damage. We began a deeper investigation: collected photos, documentation, repair estimates, and reconstructed the full chain of events. During the review, it became clear that after rainfall, water was entering through an opening in the building façade and reaching the electrical wiring and the motor of the external shutters. This was the root cause of the moisture, mold, and electrical issues. The most difficult part was properly explaining to the insurance company that this was not “old mold on the wall,” but the result of specific damage caused by rain and wind. After resubmission, the insurance company agreed to reconsider the case. The incident occurred just a week ago, and within two days we were able to secure a positive decision. As a result, the client received compensation of 28,500 HUF for repairs and restoration.
